The idea for a reusable ceramic place card came to mind when I was planning my own wedding in 1999. As any good hostess knows, it is important when you bring people together to create a memorable occasion. In the case of my wedding, I wanted this and more… I wanted everything to be perfect.  Surprise, surprise!

Never in my life would I have thought of myself as a perfectionist until it came down to planning all the details of my reception. I was bored with many of the wedding favors that I was looking at and equally unenthused with table décor options.

It was at this time that I decided to create something unique that would dress up my tables, be personal to the event, and also serve as a party favor for my guests. I created the first PlaceTile®, a write-n-erase ceramic place card that guests could take home to use for their dinner parties. To my delight, people were laughing, eating, drinking and feeling merry and were very intrigued with my new creation.

PlaceTile^® Designs timeless ceramic place cards and tableware accessories was founded soon after I recovered from the wedding. Since then, our collection of PlaceTiles® called The Timeless Collection has grown to include many classic styled ceramic place cards, MenuTiles™ and monogrammed trivets-with motif inspirations dating back to 1500 B.C. Each piece is enriched with its own character due to the hand detailing and painting. In addition, we now sell The GoGo Line which consists of unique terracotta serving platters made in Mexico. The GoGo Oblong Platter is an absolute find for those who serve asparagus or bread sticks and never can find the proper dish.
